How To Change Login Email Address in Blogger?

Blogger do not permit to change your login email address directly. However, there is still a way to change your primary email address. Sometimes, it becomes necessary to update your primary login for your blog.

There are various reasons as to why it becomes necessary to change email address for blogger login.

Possible reasons to change your primary email address

  1. New bloggers usually create their blog with a random email id and later feel that there blog should have been associated with something that looks more genuine. In that case, they have to search for ways to change their primary email address.
  2. When you have more than one blog and these blogs are associated with different email address, it becomes difficult to manage both the accounts. In that case, you want to change the login id of one of the blog so as to manage both blogs from the same dashboard.
  3. You applied to AdSense from another email id and you want your blog to be associated with that email id.

Change Blogger Login Email Address
I already said, there is no direct way or any account option where you can go and just edit your primary email address. However, you still can do it. Here are the ways:

  1. Login to your Blogger account for which you want to change your login email id.
  2. I assume you already have created another email address which you want to switch to. If not, go and create one first.
  3. Go to Blogger Dashboard > Settings > Basics. In Permissions section, you will find the blog authors.
  4. blog authors

  5. Click on Add Authors button and send an author invite to the new email address which you want to switch to.
  6. You would have received an author invitation in your second email address. Now, go there and accept it
  7. When the invitation is accepted, you will see the other email address as a new author. Change the role of new email address from Author to Admin
  8. Blog Admin Author

  9. The last step. Login to blogger account from your new created email address. You will see the blog in your dashboard with Admin power. Go to Settings > Basic and remove your old email address from the Blog Authors from Permission.
  10. Done!!

Conclusion

Although it is better to stick to one particular email address since your visitors get used to it and all other Google accounts are associated with it, sometimes it becomes a necessity to change your primary email address in blogger. In that case, you can follow above steps.

I don’t think to change my primary email address in my blogger account. I have made some blogs in blogger.com but I use the same email address. I don’t know if I can change it for a certain purpose. This is a kind of good information for me. It is new thing for me, too.
Thank you for this nice tips and tricks.

Great effort Ankit. You are always trying to give reasonable information. That’s why i like you. Sometimes, people do need to apply for adsense. If they have tried and got rejected. They might need to change their email account to apply from a fresh account. You article will surely help them.

Make sure to send the invitation to your new email address and accept that. Then it will show in your settings page.

Google seems to have changed this. They no longer allow a change in email address. Why do they want to make life difficult like this? Why do they care?

Thank you so so much for the step by step of changing admin and address. I have had nonstop headaches because I created a blog many years ago with a non-Gmail address and it has been beyond difficult getting signed into this older blog. Each sign in was requiring various time consuming hoops to jump thru and verification codes and it was awful. Your instructions were very easy to follow and thank you so much !!!!!

I have the same problem as Vanshika Abroal. It only linked my new email, which I’m using to mail you this, and it doesn’t show it under authors. It only shows my old email… and now I don’t know how to reverse that. But I can log in with the new email, but keeps showing the old one.

sir, i successfully did this. But my problem is, that blog is associated with an adsense account. An adsense account also associated with the old email. Will the earnings/adsense account be affected?
